One of our better days

Is it Thursday today? Really you do lose track in here?

We are cautiously excited to say we have had a better day today! We were met with the news this morning that if Caleb had more fevers that we risked returning to theatre to drain fluid off the knee. Although we are not out of the woods yet, we are certainly blessed by the absence of any more fevers today so far! We also changed meds again today and this also seems to have helped Caleb. The last few episodes after his meds were given saw him seemingly increase his pain and had severe itching and a rash over his body! Thankfully so far so good!

Caleb also made a huge step today and I mean that literally - he went for a small (but HUGE for him) walk on the pararel bars down at the gym. I have never been SO proud. It was gut sweatingly hard for him but my braveheart breathed in and took some steps on his other leg!!

Pinsite care was again a traumatic experience but he manaaged to use a new technique for some of the time to deal with the pain and this did seem help him and mummy! We are becoming accustomed to sighing with relief at the end of this process and having cuddles whilst we both catch our breath and escape reality for a while.

So today and for now we are grateful for probably our best day thus far.

Dear Team Wishart

I have just read all your blog entries and all I can say WOW! What a journey you are on.

Dear Caleb
I am amazed to see you standing and walking around around so soon! I have always known you were brave but you have been incredible through this really hard time. I hope you know we are all thinking and praying for you and your family and looking forward to you getting better and stronger as quickly as possible.

Blessings

Dear Janet
All our mother hearts are torn as we read of the cruel and yet so necessary procedure that must be performed. Your character and strength just shines through your writing and it is obvious that you are resting on God. Our prayer is that each day will continue to bring miracles as you see God at work in healing Caleb and sustaining each of you.

Every blessing

Ruth
