Morphine Haze

Day three has also seen us experience life through the haze of morphine. Caleb has really changed today and it has been one of the more difficult days to walk through. The morphine today has really impacted his little body with some muscle spasms, fitful sleep, nightmares, visual hallucinations and incomprehendable speech. The simplest of physical activities that each of us take for granted have become massive efforts for him. Caleb has started having a reoccuring nightmare where he dreams that he is simply standing up off the bed. This has caused his heart rate to race out of range through the night last night and during the day until he jerkingly wakes to consciousness. He has had the dream time and time again throughout the last 24 hours.
But gratefully he has seemed to creep back to us tonight and Dug and I have exchanged eye contact and sigh knowing we are both relieved to for now at least turned this corner.
THank you Jesus for the power of your name prayed over him in this time. At a time when there is nothing to do we hold so tightly to the true hope and power better than any medical aid. The direct access to the healing hand of Calebs mighty, loving creator.

Tomorrow will bring its own huge challenges but for now we exhale, breathe and say thank you to our Yahweh Jehovah.

Oh dear Wishart family, tears flow as I read through all that is going on in this journey. I think and pray for you often and miss you all. Wishing I could be one of those nice nurses you have to see each hour. Reuben says hi Caleb.
